Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

Webuild (www.webuildstaffing.com) is actively seeking a highly skilled Land Surveyor / Project Surveyor to lead in-office surveying operations and independently manage a diverse portfolio of land surveying projects throughout the Seattle, Washington market. This role is well-suited for an experienced surveying professional who thrives in a leadership capacity and possesses the technical expertise to support commercial, mixed-use, and residential development projects from planning through construction. The selected candidate will serve as a key technical resource, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of survey data that supports land development and construction activities across the region.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will oversee all in-office land surveying functions, providing technical direction and quality control for multiple projects. Responsibilities include the preparation of boundary surveys, record plats, easements, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking layouts, and as-built documentation. You will analyze and process field data, develop survey drawings and deliverables, and prepare detailed information packages for field crews supporting grading, infrastructure, and building construction.

You will organize and coordinate field crews, manage workloads, and collaborate closely with civil engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met. This position requires the ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for schedules, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. You will also play a role in refining internal surveying processes and supporting continuous improvement across project execution.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of professional land surveying experience, with a strong background in land development, grading, and construction staking projects. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or a related discipline and maintain an active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Washington.

Strong technical expertise, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and modern surveying workflows is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate leadership capability, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
